Dakota Driveway Alert Wireless
Dakota Wireless Driveway Alert Systems
The Dakota Wireless Driveway Alert series 2500 is a wireless driveway alert that works up to 2500 feet and incorporates a motion sensor with wireless transmitter and inside receiver chime.
The DCR-2500 ( Driveway Alert ) is the standard receiver for our 2500 Series products. It has four form “C” relay outputs and one 12VDC output. The output durations are adjustable up to 10 minutes. The receiver will play one of four different tunes that are selected at the transmitter so that different zones can be distinguished. The receiver is powered by a 12VDC transformer. It also offers a 5 minute exit delay so you can leave the house without disturbing any occupants as well as a reminder beep and counter function.
There are 3 sensor / transmitter combinations available which have a maximum rated visual point-to point wireless distance of 2500 feet. You can choose from the Driveway Motion Detector, the Vehicle Detector (Magnetic Driveway Vehicle Sensor), or the Pressure Sensor Driveway Sensor Alert. A summary of these 3 sensor choices is described in the next paragraph.
Driveway Motion DetectorThese sensors will detect vehicles, people, and if you are out in the country, possibly deer. The sensor and transmitter are combined into one device (unit). These detector / driveway sensors are generally the least expensive and easiest to install. It is also the most commonly used driveway sensor; therefore greatest selection of driveway alarm systems include a motion sensor.
Vehicle DetectorThese vehicle metal sensors will detect vehicles only (magnetic detector of metal vehicle passing by). The driveway sensor lies (or is buried) on one side of the driveway and has a wire that goes to the transmitter box. Generally the sensor and wire are buried the distance to where you have placed the transmitter box. If buried, the detector / sensor are not visible at the driveway entrance. This system takes more effort to install and is generally more expensive.
Driveway Pressure SensorThe sensor is a 25 foot air hose connected to a transmitter box. When a vehicle drives over the air hose, the transmitter sends an alert to the receiver (sometimes this system is referred to as a driveway bell or driveway doorbell). Installation and cost are similar to the driveway motion detector (east installation and same cost).
